Author Visits

Author visits can benefit children in a number of ways from improving literacy to inspiring reluctant readers. It can give children confidence, broaden knowledge of literature and help develop creative skills.

As a professional author and storyteller, I love reading my books to children and it’s my aim to inspire a love of writing, reading and creativity among as many young children as possible.

My author visits are hugely popular and they are suitable for children in EYFS, reception and Key Stage 1 classes up to and including class 2.

Visits usually include spending either a half day (up to 3 hours) or a full day (6 hours max) delivering multiple 45-minute class-based storytelling sessions.

Follow-up fun, creative, class-based workshops are also available and are usually a huge hit with the children and teachers as they enable youngsters to engage more fully with story content and characters. (Please allow at least 1.5 hrs per class for 1x storytelling session and 1x follow-up workshop).

A typical class-based storytelling session usually involves an introduction to me, my books and life as an author. A reading from my book/books and a short question and answer session with the children. These sessions are lots of fun and include props and audience participation.

There is also the opportunity for parents/carers/ and teachers to pre-order signed copies of my books and, where possible, a book signing session will be carried out either at the end of each class session or at the end of the school day so that I can give children their books personally.

Prices start from £150 for a half-day visit and attendance fees are payable on booking along with travel costs.
